LOOS.ZIP
Zip file of standard Loos & Co., Inc. AutoCAD details of brace assemblies and attachments – includes  AutoLISP  programs.

LoosPK.ZIP
Zip file of additional AutoCAD details of a variety of suspended, trapeze supported and vibration isolated equipment.

Ltables.ZIP
Zip file containing spread sheet load tables in Lotus 1-2-3 Version 4.01 & 5.01 and in Excel Version 7.0. Each version contains the same spread sheet.

Load Table Spreadsheets
Select the tab for the component/element to be braced, change the value for the HLF in the black box to the required HLF and hit ENTER to calculate earthquake loads and brace sizes. Print the calculated spread sheet on your printer.

Brace Calculations on NFPA-13 Form
INCLUDES Concrete Anchors that are “Pre-Qualifed” for Seismic Applications as REQUIRED by ASCE-7.

NOTE: This program uses Microsoft Excel macros. Open Excel, click on Tools, Macro, Security, and then set Security Level to Medium. When the Calculation Form is opened, you will then be able to allow the program to run the required macros.

Enter the STEP 1 requested information in the red boxes and click the button for STEP 2. Continue to enter the requested information for STEP 3 and STEP 4. Click the RESULTS button and enter the sheet number for the calculation in the upper right hand corner. Examine the results for any blanks containing “#VALUE!”or “error” The word “#VALUE!” or “error” in any of these blanks will indicate insufficient strength in the brace or, more likely the fastener, to support the calculated load. The number of fasteners may be increased on the RESULTS page as a possible solution. If increasing the number of fasteners does not solve the problem, reduce brace spacing to reduce the footage of piping within the brace zone of influence and change the piping entries accordingly in STEP 3. After completion of the calculation, click PRINT RESULTS to print the completed form on your system printer.

1 Second Spectral Response Acceleration Map
NOTE: Qualification for General Exemption from the anchorage and sway bracing requirements of the Code, based on the Seismic Design Category of the structure, is dependent on both the 0.2 sec and the 1 second Spectral Response Acceleration criteria. See pages 2-31 through 2-32b of the Loos & Co., Inc. Manual of Code Compliance Guidelines for detailed instructions for performing the required calculations.
